Unpopular opinion...I HATED THIS BOOK!!! The main character was awful and unlikeable from the first page. I DO NOT believe in the idea that with age comes privilege to speak your mind and do what ever you want even at the expense of others. She was mean, and nasty, condescending and TOTALLY self absorbed.
Yes, one or two of the letters and other characters were touching and interesting but I just could not get past Sybil Van Antwerp!! And I love reading books in letter format but that did nothing to help this book. I confess, I read it because "everyone is reading it." Most of the time that's because the book is amazing but I have less than no idea what the appeal was here. I kept hoping it would get better that I would like her by the end but NOPE!! And how she treated her ex-husband....I'll stop here.
RATING: no stars...I give this book nothing.
