Set In 1930s Kentucky, The Giver of Stars follows a diverse group of women delivering books to remote Appalachian communities as part of Eleanor Roosevelt's real-life Pack Horse Library Project. Facing rugged terrain, misogyny, and town prejudice, they form deep bonds and fight for literacy and independence
Wow! There is so much to say about this book. The Giver of Stars was the perfect blend of historical fiction, the dynamics of the relationships between women, their dedication to books and the sharing of knowledge and standing up for one's self. I loved all the amazing women in this book especially Margery. I would like to think that I would be so strong and confident even in the face of the people she encounters.
I will confess, it was a tiny bit slow at first but so worth sticking with because when it picks up, hold on!! It really picks up.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I highly recommend!!!
