It’s back to the same old thing for me, trying to get the stuff done that I have to before I can do the things I want to. But even the most diligent need a break.
All the purging, cleaning and organizing have more than paid off, I love how my house looks and feels. And there is so much more space. Even though I swore not to bring anything new in until more of the old was out, I gave myself a little treat as a reward for a job well done so far!
This book is filled with one cute project after the next.
You can see her version in the link above. I just love this bag and happen to have some of the fabric that little “sugar bowl” patch is from. See, it was ment to be. (I’ll use anything to rationalize and make myself feel better)
I also bought this book. Another great Zakka title.
This is also a favorite of Miss Amy! Filled with more great projects. It’s the little things, the little projects that can teach you so much about sewing, embroidery, etc. Here’s one I can wait to have a go at.
She made another version of this precious wall hanging and promises a pattern soon. I’ll just have to make both. Then maybe use one in a giveaway.
Here’s another cute one!
It had me at mug rug!!! I have no words for how cute that it!!! And I know just who’s going to get it!!! Sometimes I sit and sit, pondering and pondering a project before I get started because I’m thinking about how I want the finished item to look. This little mug rug is exactly what I had in mind. I just didn’t know until I saw it in the book.
Now you can’t buy books containing embroidery without maybe picking up some new threads.
Oooooh so pretty!!!!! I’m like a kid in candy store when I see embroidery thread.
This thread is DMC perle cotton#8. Another one of my gurus, LiliPopo decided to give it a try so of course I rushed right out to find some too. I found it at PurlSoho. Along with this. I’d pinned months ago, then did a search for local shops that carry it and guess who popped up. Purl!!
Also pearl (I guess spelling depends on which side of the pond you live on. Or if there is another reason I’m all ears) cotton #8 by Valdani. I hope your computer screen is doing all the color variations justice. It gorgeous. About twice the price of the DMC. Won’t know if it’s worth it until I get it on a needle. I’ll let you know.
I also grabbed some fat quarters to test out an upcoming project. Gosh…the list goes on and on but I’m having so much fun!!
I’m also thinking it’s time to share some of this happiness!! How about a GIVE AWAY!!!!
