Laundry, sweeping, moping, dusting, dishes, gardening, breakfast, lunch, dinner…the list goes on and on of all the things one does on a daily, weekly basis. I’m one of those very rare people who feels a sort of compulsion to get those things done be settling down at my sewing machine or with yarn and needles. It’s strange, I know. Why not put those things off and get to the fun stuff first? But I heard it in a movie called The Great Debaters, to paraphrase, Do what you have to do so you can do what you want to do. I try very hard to live by that and it makes the “want to do” even sweeter.
With the help of my mother-in-law I’m in the process of purging, destashing and re-arranging my house. We started last week and its effecting every aspect of my life, even my hobbies! In the case of hobbies it’s all about finishing the old so I can start new.
Here’s one I started a few weeks ago. I have no idea why it took so long to finish but here it is…my latest mug rug!
This super fun to make!
The original pattern is for a table runner made by Missouri Star Quilt Company in the Craftsy class, Quilting Quickly II
This mug rug version was on Pinterest and made with a mini charm pack (2.5″ square). The fabric line is Posy by Aneela Hoey!!!! All of her fabric lines are beautiful but this one is my favorite so far.
Those prints are just precious!!
All good things to those who work before they play…
Another “alike” thing we share! I get all my stuff for the morning finished before fun! I straighten up, clean up and then make lunch and sit to look at IPad then crafty stuff! Can’t play until cleaned up!! LOL We are crazy gals but…IT WORKS!
