I’m all about supporting the small businesses but when a store like this opens about 15 mins from your house. its very easy to lose your mind for a little while.
And lose it I did….It’s big, it’s new, it’s pretty, it’s organized and did I mention it’s only 15 mins from my house.
Who wouldn’t go nuts seeing all this?
These ladies are waiting to have their fabric cut…you have to take a number….I love organization.
And the sales!!! There is 40-50% off almost everything this Labor Day weekend. Including quilting fabric, home dec fabric, notions (lots of notions), patterns! The best part, their grand opening is Sept. 15-17…more sales!!!!! I can get 50% off an Accuquilt Go!!! Do I need one? I think I need one!! I should get one! Should I get one?
Can you hear the “excitement bordering on hysteria” in my voice?
After three consecutive days of “getting to know the place”, here’s the haul…
Yes, that is a Farmer’s Almanac you see. I’ve never looked through one and thought why not. But this is what happens when you let your emotions take over…
One of the best and worst parts was on the third day of exploring/shopping I was at the cutting table waiting for my fabric. As I turn to leave I’m looking down at Kira in the stroller when I hear this very calm but motherly voice say to me “You’re not allowed to be here…you’re not allowed to shop here…”. I froze for a second then looked up the see 3 employees from Hartsdale Fabric (my usual haunt) standing in front of me. It was incredible. I felt like my mum had caught me stealing money from her purse. The guilt was so overwhelming for a moment I couldn’t move. Then the laughed and said we’re here. But to check out the competition, I said. All the points they made about the store were true, “the chain vs. the mom/pop”. And if I really needed help for a big project I would go there but this was so fun for the moment…so why do I still feel guilty?
