With the help of my friend JL and some rather late nights I’ve mastered 2 out of 3. I like Twitter and think it’s an unbelievable resource for finding people and endless links to quilting and knitting information (or whatever your interests). I’m madly in love with Pinterest. It’s the most addictive site I’ve ever come across on the web. And the inspiration, the links, the food, the pictures the DIY projects…!!!! To me it’s the biggest eye candy store in the world. As you can see from the link below to my Pinterest boards I’ve been very busy and there is no end in sight. Honestly I’ve had a wonderful “headache” with all the possibilities, all the fun…
This past Thursday was a week that I’ve been “In” and I’m off and running. One of my biggest finds on Pinterest are all the sources for organization and decorating ideas for my home. I don’t know if I ever posted about this cabinet. Chris and I started working on it last summer, right after we moved in. We, more like he, painted the outside. Then other pressing house stuff took over and it sat in the basement for a year. Well after much use of my womanly wiles my darling hubby finally moved it upstairs to its premanent home, the guest/sewing room.
I’m so excited to finally have it upstairs but it still needed more work. We also need more storage space. Ya see, this cabinet is suppose to house my yarn stash and maybe even some of my (rapidly growing) fabric stash. Right now it’s all in a closet and under the guest bed.
So I pulled out the drop clothes, the paint and some brushes and got to work. That incredibly bright blue was the original color…no way!!!
Voila!!! First coat done in 1 hour and 20 mins. It’s also the first thing I’ve ever painted myself. I always let Chris do it. But as you can see if I wait for my man things can take a while. Not complaining mind you…but I want the yarn put away and I need that closet.
Wait until you see what I have planned for the shelves and inside the doors….FUN!!!!
Oh, and if you’re still reading I finished the shawl!!!! Pics tomorrow or Sunday!!!
How awesome is that! And word to the wise, once you start painting, you never stop… so plan on adding that to your already-very-long-list-of-skills! Parental unit just left, so life slowly returning to normal. Will call next week. I miss you and can’t wait to see that shawl – in person, please! xoxoxo
Wow! It’s GREAT! You did an amazing job. It looks so much better than that bright blue. I can’t wait to see how it looks, all filled with your yarn and fabric. So proud of you, sweetie. I find painting to be a lot like vacuuming – it’s instant gratification.
