I know my birthday has come and gone but I received one of my gifts last night. My parents, sister and brother-in-law gave Chris and I tickets to see Driving Miss Daisy on Broadway. That is only one of my favorites of all time. And guess who was in it…more favorites. James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave. HOLY COW!!!!!!
Yes, we were, I should say I was a total geek and waited outside the theater to catch a glimpse. That was all I could get of Mr. Jones He smiled and waved but didn’t stop to give autographs or pose for pictures.
And there she is. One of the true and few ladies still out there. She was right in front of me. I had tears in my eyes. She was so gracious and soft-spoken and kind to everyone she spoke to.
I have to thank my AMAZING husband for standing there for over 40 minutes with me. He was so exhausted and so hungry but he waited lovingly. Kissing the top of my head every now and then to re-assure me all was well and he didn’t mind.
Most of all thanks to my family, especially my sister who remembered me saying I really wanted to see this. And my mum who baby-sat.
A magical evening…..
