It was just too late to post last night…I’m surprised I was even able to see the stitches to finish it. But it’s done, another perfect, flawlessly designed pattern. Knit just for fun of course and to say I’ve knitted one of these. One of these being the February Baby Sweater from Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Knitter’s Almanac.
Sorry, but no buttons or blocking yet. Again it was just to darn late and with this lovely little garment not having an immediate recipient there appeared no rush.
Yarn: Mountain Colors Weavers Wool Quarters
Amount: 1 skein, 350 yards
Needles: Addi Lace #7
Started: February 26, 2008
Finished: February 29, 2008
Modifications: The sleeves were knit in the round, so now completely seamless. I also didn’t decrease by 10% before doing the garter stitch border across the bottom. Honestly I forgot…(don’t knit when you’re sleepy/tired).
This is only my second attempt at lace and while it’s not difficult one does have to pay attention. But there is no question that it is worth the effort. And there is that “easy to entertain” factor about it, between the gull pattern and the subtle color changes in the yarn…riveting!
The collection grows….but for no one in particular of course.
