So a few days after enjoying our wonderful day of apple and pumpkin picking Kira and I came down with colds. Then Kira got a sinus infection and most recently she’s been afflicted with high fevers and vomiting. Needless to say I’ve been all consumed with nursing my child (and myself) back to good health.
Which also explains silence here!! Sorry yall…
Kira and I did find the energy one day to make this super yummy apple pie. She was so excited and fascinated by the whole process. I used this recipe!! It was a bit sweet for me but everyone else loved it.
I also made this little trick or treat bag. I signed up to be one of the class moms for Kira’s class and we are organizing the upcoming Halloween party. The other mom, Kim, found this pattern on Pinterest (of course) and I made a sample. Super easy, super cute, took about 1/2 hour.
Now I just have to whip up 15, one for each student and 2 “fancier” ones for the teachers. So fun!!! I love this stuff!!! I’m such a geek!!
And for all you knitters, spinners, and fiber lovers out there this weekend is the NY Sheep and Wool Festival!! So you can guess where I’ll be.
Hope to see some of you there.
And on a side note, I’m thinking about starting a fan page on Facebook for this old blog. I’ll be able to update, share and explore alot more things in knitting, sewing and quilting. I’m very excited!! I’ll let you know when it’s ready…Hope you LIKE it!!!

Hey Denise,
I am hope you and Kira are feeling better. One day, you’ll have to join me here for the MD Sheep and Wool Festival. I go every year for the yarn and for the giant eclairs.
Looking forward to the FB page.

Boo ( haha how timely) to illness but still you manage to create a gorgeous pie and a cute trick or treat bag! Have fun at Rhinebeck, I will be living vicariously through you so I need a full report and hopefully some shots of the fabulous purchases you make.
