I GOT IT!!! AND I AM TOTALLY HOOKED!!!
I’m so excited to share this that I didn’t even rip it off the foundation paper (vellum)!!
There’s my first cup/mug!! ( I gave up on the apple…to small for a first project).
I’m so excited I don’t even know what to do with myself.
Look at the detail on that handle…wow!!!
The only question/issue I have, which I’m hoping one of my readers who’s done this before can help me with, is how did I transpose/reverse the image? And how do I not do it again….?
I’m not going to lose a ton of sleep over it because I’m to thrilled with the results.
And I made pieces #9 & #14 white instead of solid pink…again, a big deal…NO!!
The wrong color on #14 (in the side by side picture) was getting to me a bit so I had to change that one as you may have noticed above.
But #9…Do I care? Not in the least. Beside there was way to much re-doing to fix that one. I understand the technique (most of it!!!) That’s what counts. Now I can work on that shawl for my aunt without this puzzle nagging me. Once the shawl is done I’ll be back to piecing!!
I also wanted to mention…the tools that made this all happen (beside the YouTube video). The subscription card and the Add A Quarter Ruler…can’t work without them. And the books…Cups and Saucers Paper Pieced Kitchen Designs and Needles and Notions Paper Pieced Patterns with a Sewing Room Theme. The paper for this block came from the first book.
I’m thinking a little quilted coaster…
Now off the knit!!!! Though I’m dying to start another one!!!!

Trace your pieces and then number the backs with the piece number. Just reverse the design. Not sure if that makes sense, I’m trying to think of a better way to put it. Okay, how about this… trace the design with pencil onto a sheet of paper, then turn it over and trace the design to the back of the paper so that it’s in reverse. Then follow the same process as before. I’m sure that’s as clear as mud but I gave it a shot.
