I could write for hours about my feelings about Kira starting school today but I can barely see the computer screen through my tears. Yes, I’m being dramatic but who cares. My baby started school today and took one step further on her journey through life. I’m excited, proud and just “FULL”!
The nursery school she is attending is starting things off very easy and on a reduced schedule, so today was only 1/2 hour. But it didn’t matter, my girl walked in and didn’t look back!!!
But before I get ahead of myself our first day started last night with a little gift from Gma (Chris’s mother), The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. If you haven’t read it, it’s a must. I had tears in my eyes by the end. Kira just wanted to go to bed but we coaxed her into a short photo shoot. It’s one of the most touching books ever!!!
Thank you Gma!!
Onto the big day! I saw this idea on Pinterest (of course) and had to do it!
The plan is to make one at the beginning of each school year up to college…A great wedding gift…(yes I’m planning a bit too far ahead).
Look at my Kira…3 years and 4 months old…
It’s not a great picture but it’s the only one I had that didn’t show the faces of the other children. Have to respect privacy. But there’s my girl having a great time and completely unaware of my presence or the lack of.
I’m so proud of you my love!!

Love the picture idea!
I love this post. So bittersweet, isn’t it? My baby is much younger and nowhere near school age (he was born 11 April this year), but I can already see what they mean about how fast they grow. I know when Arthur’s first day of preschool comes around I’ll be just as sad, happy, and doing cute pictures as you are!
