…I got a bit side tracked. Actually I was returning one of many favors to my sister. One of her best friends (who I’ve also known for years) is being surprised with a bridal shower this weekend and she is one of the hosts. Now my sister doesn’t have crafty bone in her entire body. If I ever want to punish her for some little annoyance, all I have to do is drag her into a craft/yarn shop and she’s ready to scream UNCLE. Seems I fell head first into that part of the gene pool. So when she mentioned the shower I asked what the favors were going to be…
Insert picture of a deer in the headlights…..
Do we need favors? (panic in her voice) I guess we need favors. So after a chat with her co-host they decided on the traditional Jordan Almonds. Step two, “Den, where do you get those almonds from”. My response, “Since you’ve been so good to me and you’re always there to lend a hand I’ll buy them, package them and tag them for you”. The squeal was deafening.
So in about 1 1/2 hours, here’s the end product…35 favors. This would have taken my sister hours, even days, and caused much pain and suffering….
Packed, tagged and ready to go with bride-to-be’s future initials, seven almonds in each (for good luck).
I even pulled out the deckle edge scissors (a remnant from my decoupage days) for the special touch.
Have a great day Mindy!!! Congratulations…Love ya honey.
