Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with my friend JL who opened my eyes to the Internet and all it’s possibilities. I, like many people, thought I knew my way around cyberspace. With help, I have been able to set up and run this blog which was a huge accomplishment for me. But after about 2 1/2 - 3 hours in the company of my now computer guru (I’ll come up with a hipper name, just give me another few minutes) I was equal parts delighted and horrified by all the wonderful new doors opening up to me. There is so much out there…I had no idea. To some of you that may seem ridiculous but it’s true. All I’ve focused on for years is knitting. I didn’t want to get involved in anything else. Knitting is my passion. It is the thing I want to master. But after one afternoon with JL, I felt like I’d been gently coaxed out of my cave and shown a whole new world. The best part…learning how to combine these two worlds. Taking the time to set everything up is where the Hoover part comes in but once it’s all done…then it’s not.
Between now understanding how to contribute/post to Zimmermaniacs(I’ll let you know when my first post goes up), fine tuning my boards in Ravelry to even managing my favorite blogs, links and pattern downloads. I can enjoy the Internet much more efficiently, leaving myself plenty of knitting time. Again, I know this may sound silly but I’m really excited.
Thank you my friend. I still have a question or two but my fear of “pressing the button” is gone forever. It’s my Dennis the Menace moment (for those of you who have seen the movie).
P.S. If you’ve never been there before you must visit PageFlakes.com…I love that site. You’ll see what I mean.
P.S.S. Knitting content and pictures tomorrow. Just 5 more days to Ravelympics ‘08.
P.S.S.S. My DH who faithfully reads my blog was quite embarrassed that in the post about my coat I referred to I-Cord as duck tape not duct tape. The post has now been edited…sorry honey.

My dear, it was my pleasure and it was the LEAST I could do. You taught me to knit, but more importantly you taught me to LOVE to knit and to be curious about knitting and fiber and mistakes. A real gift. So enjoy all the new ‘net stuff!
