Another pair done and I’m happy to say I’m wearing them today. And yes, they feel so great!! The yarn is a must have. The other reason I love this yarn is because of what they remind me of. It’s nice to re-visit the older versions of yourself from time to time.
Yarn:Enchantedknoll, Superwash “Juniper”
Amount: 1 skein, 490 yds (I had some left over)
Needles: Addi #0
Pattern: “Vanilla” sock pattern, 72 stitches, heel flap, the basics…
This is the re-visit part. When I was about 15 years old, I was obsessed with all things fantasy & fairy. 15 seems a bit old but I really didn’t care then and I care even less now. I wanted to own a unicorn and completely believed that fairies rode on the backs of fire flies. To this day, I still call them fairy chariots. My husband just smiles.
So when I started knitting these socks it took about a minute to figure out the connection. The colors look like they were taken from this book.
Just look at that page…if I were to find myself walking among “old oaks” I would want to be wearing these socks…
And look at what I just got in the mail. Another gorgeous skein of yarn from the Farm Witch (I don’t think it’s a coincidence that that is her name) This colorway is “Chai” and it also fits perfectly in my book.
I’m off to knit more socks…I might even sit for a while and knit to one of my favorite movies…Legend.
It’s good to be a geek.
