The original plan was to knit one project per book of the Harry Potter series but…since I listened to the books instead of actually reading them it went fast, really fast. So there was only one project…Phineas. Now for some reason these socks took much longer than they should have and I’m sure why. Yes I was using #0 needle and there was some counting but nothing major…Maybe I just didn’t want to finish them…I get like that sometimes, attached to a project and don’t want to see it end…but alas.
The color is just amazing and in some way reminds me of an old English garden as things are starting to die (I don’t know where that came from but it’s what I was see) and they feel so SOFT….
Pattern: Phineas by Quietish
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Gold Hill, 2 skeins
Needles: Addi Turbos #0, 2 circs
Modifications: The pattern was originally done toe-up but I keep resisting that method…anyway I reversed it and happily knit away top down. There are 5 1/2 repeats of the pattern from the cuff to the start of the toe shaping, so I could have a point in the center on the top of the foot. Twisted stitch ribbing for about 21 rounds. ( I tend to knit things like ribbing, cuffs, hems, etc. in multiples of 7), twisted slipped stitch heel, grafted toe.
Now, my problem is what sock pattern to knit next…I have so much sock yarn and there are so many patterns I want to knit but I just can’t seem to match pattern to yarn…Anyone else have that problem? I’ll let you know my decision soon….wow if this is my biggest problem I’m doing great…

Those came out great. The patterning of the yarn and the pattern of the sock complement one another nicely.
Oooh! Those are fabu! As you know I’m not a sock knitter (are we still friends?), but if we’re going to be tempted, I’d make those. How do you think they’d look on size GARGANTUOUS feet? Perhaps you’d give me yours – you know, just to try on? For a while?
See you soon!
Carolyn
They’re beautiful!!
They look wonderful! The colors in the first picture compared to the second look very different. Which is more true to color?
I was just finishing some socks the other day and before I had the toe done I had started to look through and see what sock would be next on the needles. I have tons of patterns I’d like to knit, but had the same dilemna as you, what yarn matched what pattern.
