Now, I wanted to post a few days ok but we are a one computer household and when the husband has work to do for work and homework to do, it seems a bit silly to say “honey are you going to be done soon I have some blogging to do”. So that aside I”m here now…and with Socktoberfest 2007, the Halloween season (my most favorite holiday, second only to New Year’s Eve) and count down to the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival I don’t even know where to begin. This is also my first time enjoying this time of the year and having my own blog, my own place to share my excitement and energy…So buckle your seat belts…
First things First…Socktoberfest….my needles are out, the stash has been sorted and the patterns are ready…Let the knitting begin. Here’s some of the sock stash…I didn’t realize how much yarn and what good taste I have…it was like shopping in my own closet and getting so excited to see that all this gorgeous “potential” is all mine
Schaefer Yarn, Anne (there were no color names on the tags)
Mountains Colors Bearfoot, Spruce, Bark Brown, Yellowstone
Claudia’s Handpaint, Donna’s Favorite
Colinette Jitterbug, Castagna, Sahara, Raphael
Lorna’s Laces, Gold Hill, Old Rose, Glenwood, Red Rover, Aslan (and I just purchased 2 more skeins, not pictured here called Mineshaft, gorgeous, but not my usual colors…then again…you’ll see)
Dancing Feet “Black Cherry”, Interlacements Little Toes, Cinnamon’s Dye Pot “Cherrywood”
Dream in Color “November Muse” (a much better representation of the color than in a previous post)
Ranco Multi #308 (new sock yarn from Arucania, new to me)
Sockpixie Raspberry Cheesecake
Trekking (no idea what number, the tag is long gone) but I do remember buying this yarn the day I saw The Passion Of The Christ. I was quite freaked out and the only thing I could think to do to calm myself down was to buy sock yarn….
Trekking Pro Natura (forgot to note the color and I’m to lazy to get up and go find it in the stash….)
STR, Amber (that was purchased at my second sheep and wool festival about 5 years ago…this is way before STR became popular. I wish you could feel the difference between then and now…don’t get me wrong it’s still awesome stuff but very different), Terra Firm, Rose Quartz, Fred Flintstone, Sun Stone, Autumn, Obsidian, Earth
Now I don’t know how realistic I’m being but I’m hoping to knit a pair of socks for each week of this month…we’ll see. I’ve gotten a head start with these and I’m hoping to have some finished pictures up when we get back from a weekend in Montauk…the hubby, pups and I just chillin’ on the water…not a long get away but a much needed one.
Back to the stash…in case anyone was counting that’s 53 skeins of sock yarn people!!! 53!!! not to mention the 2 skeins of LL Gold Hill presently on needles (see above), the two LL in Mineshaft not shown and the multitude of Koigu that I didn’t even bother taking shots of yet….Can you say addiction boys and girls? So again not including Koigu that’s 57 skeins of yarn…and I have even gotten to the rest of the non-sock stash…I got alatta yarn!!!!!! Here are some of the patterns I have in mind….these, these (the pink pair which is an altered version of these) these and definitely these.
I’ll get into Halloween and NYS Sheep and Wool Festival later…in the mean time…Happy Sock Knitting Everyone!!!! and have a great weekend!!!

Wow, you do have a lovely selection to choose from. And such nice Fall colors. Can I come shop at your house?!?
Wow, that’s some serious stash. Lots of goodies, esp. the Schaefer looks lovely.
After reading your blog entry regarding your sock stash; I no longer think I have a problem. Although I have been having very envious thoughts about your sock stash.
